Chart comparing UN rankings of nominal GDP and educational ranking of many of the countries around the world. The line plotted is the regression line, and we can kind of think of that as a performance line. Above the line, a country generally speaking underperforms it's education level for their given nominal GDP ranking. Below the line, the country does better than normal (compared to the regression). The countries we might consider targeting are above the line, towards the center or slightly left of it. Specific ones that stand out to me (for various different reasons) would be Turkey, UAE, South Africa, Nigeria, and maybe Saudi Arabia. |
