Project - Deployment Liberia

Project Lead: Bodo Hoenen - bodo@dev4x.com
Project team: Dr. Thierry (Email), Thibault (email), Luisa (email)

Overview:

Over the past few months we have established a relationship with a Liberian non-profit More Than Me we will be working with them to help provide an immediate solution to their educational needs and also use this as an initial deployment site where we can work with the children to ad build a strong relationship with the community.

Goals:
  • Get to know the children and community we will be working with.
  • Test various assumptions:
    • How would children want to interact with a self-schooling device?
    • Assuming that some of the children we are working with have not seen tablets and do not know how to interact with them, how should we introduce the device and the user experience?
    • How do these children respond to different forms of engagement models and game mechanics, what should our initial beta version focus on.
    • What are the biggest assumptions and questions we have coming out of this research, how can we build our beta platform to test these.
  • Create a research framework document that can be used for future research projects.
  • Create a deployment framework, and best practice guide for future deployments.
